Pontiac Fiero GT Video Review Presented by D&M Motorsports. The Pontiac Fiero is a mid-engined sports car that was built by the Pontiac division of General Motors from 1984 to 1988. The Fiero—meaning “proud” in Italian and “wild”, “fierce”, or “ferocious” in Spanish—was designed by George Milidrag and Hulki Aldikacti as a Pontiac sports car. The Fiero was the first two-seater Pontiac since the 1926 to 1938 coupes, and also the first and only mass-produced mid-engine sports car by a US manufacturer. Many technologies incorporated in the Fiero design such as plastic body panels were radical for its time. Alternative names considered for the car were Sprint, P3000, Pegasus, Fiamma, Sunfire, and Firebird XP.[citation needed] The Fiero 2M4 (2-seat, Mid-engine, 4-cylinder) was on Car and Driver magazine’s Ten Best list for 1984. Based on the recently introduced 2010 Kizashi, already acclaimed for its near-luxury content and Euro-tuned platform, the Kizashi sport grade moves the excitement meter upwards with a host of external modifications. These include a more muscular front fascia (with chrome accents) and lower grille, body side sill extensions, lower body side moulding with chrome accents, a boot mounted spoiler, custom lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels and 10 mm lower ground clearance for a combination of better aerodynamics and a lower centre of gravity for enhanced grip and sharper handling. Inside, the new Kizashi gets a distinctive designed sport steering wheel with perforated leather grip and contrasting stitching on the leather seats, shifter boot and emergency brake boot (when equipped with black leather interior). Interior upgrades speak to the Kizashi’s sporting intent, with form-fitting sport seats and driver-centric cockpit. Suzuki honed the Kizashi’s chassis on freeways, winding roads, and urban roads in the United States, on challenging country roads in the United Kingdom and on the Nürburgring in Germany.
