Author: Opel will have a busy fall this year with the introduction of three new icons: the revolutionary electric Ampera with extended range capabilities, the new generation Zafira Tourer flexibility master, and the Astra GTC three-door sports compact. The Opel Astra GTC will have its world premiere at the 64th International Motor Show in Frankfurt am Main, September 15-25, 2011. The new Opel Astra GTC stands out with sharp design and driving capabilities. On the outside, sculpted shapes with precise accents add drama to clean, sweeping coupé lines. And on the road, all Astra GTC versions benefit from a premium front axle layout with HiPerStrut – High Performance Strut – that ideally combines with the clever Opel patented Watt’s link rear axle to provide unmatched stability and the sharpest driving precision. Only very few, radical sporty cars in the segment offer such a sophisticated front axle architecture. “The Astra GTC is the sporty member of the Opel family,” says Karl-Friedrich Stracke, Chief Executive Officer of Opel/Vauxhall. “It has been designed and engineered in our facilities in Rüsselsheim to be a highly desirable sports coupé with invigorating driving performance while remaining affordable, roomy and flexible. We’re convinced that it will bring a breath of fresh air into the sports compact segment”.

Opel / Vauxhall Astra GTC revealed in animation
These first images of the new generation Opel Astra GTC may show it in a virtual landscape, but as it races down an imaginary road, real test cars are now running final validation drives: The Astra GTC is officially a production reality. And on June 7 — in just six weeks’ time — Opel will reveal full details about the Astra GTC to coincide with its order books opening. Pricing, technology, equipment and powertrains will be laid bare, giving customers the chance to specify their ideal model and place an order early. The first production version of the new Opel Astra GTC will then receive its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show, on September 15, 2011. Based on last year’s Opel GTC Paris concept car presented early October 2010 at the Mondial de l’Automobile, the production Astra GTC will be a 5-seater, 3-door sporty compact car with dramatic proportions. It will feature the very best of Opel’s latest technology, as well as unique chassis features.

Opel opens the Paris Motor Show (October 2 — 17) with the unveiling of the sporty concept GTC Paris and the premiere of the new station wagon version of the Astra, the Sports Tourer. Furthermore, a particularly frugal ecoFLEX model in each range is available for customers who are especially aware of the environment. Opel also announced the introduction of the Opel Ampera to the market in 2011. The electric vehicle has a propulsion system, which, thanks to a range extender, gives drivers the peace of mind that they won’t be stranded due to a flat battery.

One of the rarest games I have, this is a simulator of Japan’s classic sporty coupes and sports cars. Very interesting selection of the 70′s machines including the classy Isuzu Bellett to the grand Toyota 2000GT. Best played with analog, the physics are actually good with these low tech RWD cars that have no traction & stability control, driving them can’t be more fun!
